Where Are They Now? ---> J & Christy Brown

Our names are J and Christy Brown.  We were in the Chinese Branch in the summer of 2009 when J was working for Pinnacle Security.  Our time in the branch was only four months.  It was short but memorable.  J was called to be the second counselor of the Young Men Presidency and the Youth Sunday School teacher.  He loved both callings very much.  He said there were too many unforgettable experiences with the youth.  But if he had to name one, it would be his object lesson to tear up a one dollar bill right in front of them and seeing their reactions.  That was priceless.  Another experience was making them walk the church parking a couple times for nothing.  As for me, I recall that the Relief Society president (Sister Charlotte Shen) visit taught me every month by herself and made sure I was doing okay, even though she knew that I was only planning on being in the branch for a short period.  I knew that she loved and was concerned with each Relief Society sister very much, and I could feel that.  During the last week in Maryland we needed a place to stay because our apartment lease  was done, so the Tsai family kindly let us stay in their home.  We had a really good time and treasure our friendship even until now.  After Maryland we moved back to Utah then to Indiana for our last year working with Pinnacle Security.  Now we are currently living in Phoenix, Arizona, while J is attending Law school full time.  Our family had one addition after we left the branch.  She is our beautiful daughter, Indi Mae Brown.  We named her Indi because she was born in Indiana.  She has a good spirit, always smiles, and loves being with people.  We miss all the members in the branch and the friendship we had made and hope all of you are doing well.

Fireside for Brother and Sister Su

Immediately after the baptism for Sister Zeng, Brother Da Zhao conducted a brief branch fireside for Brother Charles Su and his new bride, May.  Brother Benjamin Tsai was asked to say a few words on behalf of the newlywed couple.  He recalled Brother Su's active participation in our branch for the last 6 years and wished them a happy new life together.  Brother Su and then Sister Su also expressed their appreciation to branch members.  After the fireside, everyone enjoyed food, socializing, and a special wedding cake.  Congratulations, Charles and May!

Baptism of Yaqi Zeng

Sister Yaqi Zeng was baptized right after church on Sunday, May 15.  She and her son, Hanson, has been attending our branch for a few months.  Her family and friends, Elder Hung, as well as the whole branch, came out to support her.  She was baptized by Elder Kerby.  Congratulations, Sister Zeng.

Where Are They Now? ---> John Huang

My name is John Huang. I was a member of the branch from ’99 to ’06. I left to study in the MBA program at BYU in Summer of ’06. I held callings of Secretary to the Elder’s Quorum President, Young Men President, and Branch Missionary.

My memorable experiences in the branch were the celebrations that we had for traditional Chinese holidays such as the Chinese New Year, which showcased many of the members’ talents, and celebrated the spirit of those holidays.

After graduating from BYU in ‘08, I joined Microsoft and had been working for the company in Seattle for the past two and a half years until leaving recently. Currently I’m studying and preparing for the CPA exam. I’m single.
