Missionary Fireside/Missionary Farewell

On Saturday, August 22, at the Washington DC Temple Visitor Center, we enjoyed a delightful evening during our branch fireside. Orchestrated by our very own Brother Charles Su, our branch mission leader, and our full-time missionaries, Elders Chang and Lin, the firside featured inspirational talks from Elder & Sister Willey of the Visitor Center, informational tours by Sisters Yu and Linsukong, and a contest led by Elders Chang and Lin with special prizes for those who gave correct answers for questions about the temple and the Gospel. The second part of the fireside was a farewell to our missionaries who will departing in September for the MTC. Sister Jessica Tsai, who will be serving in the Denver South Mission, first bore her testimony. Then Elder Jonathan Tsai, who will be serving in the Melbourne West Mission, then shared his testimony. President Tsai then said a few words on behalf of the branch for the missionaries. Brother Charles Su did a fabulous job in conducting the fireside and prepared the refreshments, which we enjoyed in the Stake Center.

2009-07-25 Young Women's Girls Camp Fireside

On Saturday evening, July 25, a special fireside was held at the Tsai home to share the young women's Girls Camp experience with their parents. At 5pm, the young women gathered to create the cuisine they enjoyed at camp, namely enchiladas, salad, and brownies. After savoring the delicious food, the young women favored us with a special program. They presented the branch flag and virtue, and Jessica introduced the camp theme, "What's Your Story?" Then they sang "If the Savior Stood Beside Me." One by one, from oldest to youngest, they shared a story from camp and its significance in their lives. At the end, root beer floats were served.
