Young Single Adult Picnic

On 7 May 2010, the young single adults (YSA) had a fun activity at a community park near the Kentlands chapel.  We barbecued hamburgers and hot dogs, and we played Frisbee.  The activity started at 7pm and we finished just before it got dark around 9 pm.  It was great that some of the young single adults brought their friends and family members.  Selina Yu invited her mother, who was visiting from China, to joining us.  We were glad that we could introduce her to a true American activity of barbecuing in the park.  There was plenty of food for everybody.  Thank you to Selina for the pictures.  The YSA will have a busy summer with work and school and some people going to China.  So please be ready for the next activity!

Wedding of John Chen

It finally happened.  Our branch's fourth missionary, John Chen, was married in the Washington DC Temple to Mary Lambert, from Indianapolis, Indiana, on Wednesday, April 14.  Later that evening, a reception was held in their honor in the home of President and Sister Tsai.  Dylan Landeen and his mother flew out from Idaho to attend the wedding and reception.  Congratulations, John & Mary!

Mormon Prom

On the night of March 19, several of our youth attended the multi-stake Mormon Prom.  The young women were very excited for this event because they were able to experience a dance with others who shared the same standards as us.  The youth dressed in modest clothing and listened to clean music.  So, in black dresses, Emerald Shen, Alice Huang, Michelle Chen, Melinda Tsai, and Sister Zhao went to the Seneca Stake Center to behold beautiful decorations: a stone floor, a fountain, and a whole restaurant set up in the back.  The food was catered from Rita's Italian Ice.  Hubert Huang, Simon Liu, and Brother Theodore later joined the girls.  Unfortunately, the girls could not stay the whole time, but they had a magnificent time nevertheless.  It was a night to remember.
