Easter Primary Activity

On the beautiful morning of April 19, we had our traditional and annual Easter activity in our Primary. Over 20 Primary children attended this special activity that was held to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. We first watched the video that Jesus is risen. Then the kids decorated their own paper eggs. It was amazing to see all of them were so creative and made paper eggs that were so pretty. The favorite part for all children was the egg hunt. Although Amber and I did not have enough experience (This was our first activity since Amber and I served at Primary) to separate them by the different ages, we were so grateful for other sisters' help that we could extend the game for the younger kids. It was a happy ending for each kid to get his/her own eggs. We are also grateful that because Jesus Christ overcame death, we will all be resurrected someday.

Baptisms of Brother Paul Feng and Sister Celia Feng

Paul and Celia Feng were baptized together on March 23, 2014. They met the Kentlands Ward sister missionaries at the Quince Orchard Library when they needed help with a computer, and began investigating the church after that. What impressed them most was the sincerity of our religion. They began to notice that we are not just a Sunday worshipping people! And so they decided to join the church! Andrew Shen conducted the service with the mother son duo Richard and Sarah Huang providing the music. Sister Charlotte Shen gave a talk on baptism, and then Elder Lim performed the ordinance for Paul, and Elder Gerber-Kai baptized Celia. Then Elder Wang gave a talk on the Holy Ghost, and it was conferred upon Celia right afterwards, since she would be leaving for Boston that week. There was a warm welcome to the branch by President Shen, welcome to the Elders Quorum by Charles Huang, and then a welcome to the Relief Society by Meili Shen. The closing prayer was offered by Helen He. Paul was confirmed the following week by Andrew Shen in Sacrament Meeting. We are so excited to have this amazing couple join our branch!

Farewell for Melinda Tsai

A much more than usual Sacrament attendance accompanied the farewell Sacrament Meeting for Melinda Tsai.  Her parents spoke first, followed by Melinda singing the new 2014 Mutual Theme Song, "Come Unto Christ," with Elders Lim, Gerber-Kai, Wong, and her dad singing the chorus.  She spoke last.  It was a spirit-filled meeting.  Many friends came to see Melinda off.  After church, a linger longer activity was planned for Melinda in the Primary Room for folks to talk to Melinda directly.  Farewell, Melinda for 18 months, and have a great mission.
