Fireside for Sister Melinda Tsai

In conjunction with the Branch's Game Night, a special fireside was held for Melinda Tsai to share her mission. Right after the Marriage Relations class the hour before, everyone gathered in the Relief Society room to listen to Melinda's fireside. With Brother Da Zhao conducting, the fireside began with an opening hymn, “I Stand All Amazed.” Melinda sang “Consider the Lilies,” accompanied by Elder Chang. She then shared her mission through a slideshow. Her stories delighted the audience with laughter and spiritual conviction. Brother Zhao presented her missionary plaque to her. The fireside concluded with a trio (Li-Fang, Melinda, and Megan Tsai) singing “I Heard Him Come,” accompanied by Elder Chang. Congratulations, Melinda, on a successful mission and a job well done.

Moon Festival Activity

A week prior to the actual Mid-Autumn Moon Festival, our branch celebrated with a dinner social.  The evening was planned by Adam and Sophy Fugal, with Adam serving as our distinguished emcee.  Over 100 people enjoyed the potluck dinner.  The program began with a presentation by Sisters So and Liou, who taught us about the Chinese character for love and how true love comes from the heart.  Then Elders Wang, Liang, Chang, and Shih sang "City Moonlight" 《城里的月光》 as a trio/quartet with Elder Chang at the piano.  Brother Andy Zhong played "The Tune of Four Seasons" 《四季调》 on the violin, accompanied by his son, 钟庆坤 Zhong Qing Kun, on the electric guitar.  Adam and Sophy favored us with a special duet, singing "It's Quite Sweet to Have a Dream" 《有梦好甜蜜》.  After the program, we all enjoyed eating mooncakes and socializing.

Relief Society Mooncakes

In preparation for the upcoming Moon Festival Activity, the fabulous Relief Society sisters gathered together on a Thursday evening to learn how to create mooncakes.  The activity was so popular that it attracted all of the missionaries, some youth, and even some Primary children.  By the end of the evening, hundreds of mooncakes were prepared for the big day.
