2023-08-27 Baptism of 洪子涵 Zihan Camille Hong

洪子涵 Zihan Camille Hong has been attending our church close to a year before she was baptized. With all the hard work of many sets of missionaries and members' supporting to teach and bear testimonies of their conversion, Camille was baptized on the evening of 08/27 so her mom, Grace, was able to attend after she gets off work. Many members of the Kentland's youth attended to support her baptism. Grace was very grateful for the baptism event and later informed the missionaries that she too felt the Spirit.

Members' faithfulness to the Temple. Since some of the members weren't able to attend the regularly scheduled Mandarin temple session due to Temple maintenance, Sister Ella Chong organized some members to attend a temple session and these wonderful members attended the session.

Shortage of Elders

For the first time since 1993, on August 10, 2023, both full-time elders were transferred to other areas to serve in mission leadership. This marked the first time that our Branch has not had elders. Sisters Yang and Nelson continue to serve faithfully in our Branch picking up the elders' load as well. We missed the elders, but they returned to our Branch on September 23, 2023.

2023-07 Seneca Stake Young Men Summer Camp C&O Canal Bike Trip

The Seneca Stake Young Men leader, Brother Wonnacott organized our Seneca Stake young men Summer Camp C&O Canal Bike Trip from July 26 - July 29. They woke up early and start from Cumberland MD to bike all 183 miles of the C&O Canal towpath. They will end on July 29 arriving at mile marker 0 at Thompsons Boat House. Along the way, they went tubing on parts of the river.

Aaron Fugal was the only young man from our Branch registered for this camping biking trip. It was his first time biking that long. Da and Adam visited the YW fireside on Friday and the next morning Da and Greg joined Aaron and the young men biking 54 miles from Brunswick MD to Washington DC mile marker 0.
