2025-06-08 Missionary Farewell for Elder Clayton Zhao

As part of Elder Clayton Zhao's last weekend in Maryland before his mission service begins, an informal open house at his house was held yesterday afternoon. Many friends arrived to congratulate and say good luck to Elder Zhao. The Sacrament Meeting today, June 8, was dedicated to Elder Zhao's farewell. President Da Zhao, Elder Zhao's father, shared his fatherly advice to Elder Zhao as he embarks on his mission. The branch choir along with the youth sang "I'll Find You My Friend" for Elder Zhao. Then Abbey Zhao, Elder Zhao's mother, shared motherly wisdom for her son. Elder Zhao then shared his reasons for serving a mission to share the joys of the gospel with others. Elder Zhao will report to the Missionary Training Center in Provo this Tuesday, before going to the China Hong Kong Mission after 3 weeks in the MTC. Elder Zhao is the 19th missionary to represent the Branch. Have a wonderful mission, Elder Zhao.

2025-05-31 Temple Baptistry Activity

Sisters Zhusheng He and Peie Wang were recently baptized. We were so excited when they prepared themselves to go to the temple to be baptized for deceased ancestors. They had prepared some family names through FamilySearch.  At 2pm on Saturday, May 31, the branch supported these two sisters and joined with them in performing the baptism and confirmation ordinances for many who have passed on before.  The two missionaries who taught them were able to come and help administer the ordinances.  Also, David Cheng and his young single adult friends from Virginia came and supported today's temple activity.  In total, 11 patrons (including 3 youth) participated with 10 endowed adults assisting.  Congratulations, Sisters He and Wang on your first temple trip!

2025-05-26 Youth Dragon Boat Race

 Another year of successful Dragon Boat race with our youth. They had a blast racing at Riley's Lock. This year, we have some new racers and their navigation needed some training as they were zig zagging and running into the other boat. But everyone was safe and had a great time!
