On Saturday, June 27, the Relief Society and the Primary had a blueberry picking activity at Butler's Orchard in the morning. Afterwards, in the afternoon at the Azucena home, there was a pool activity.

Fireside for Reiff's and Theodore's

On Father's Day, we had an extremely busy Sunday. At church in Sacrament Meeting we were privileged to listen to excellent talks on fathers by Sisters Ashley Theodore and Betty Azucena. Then we were graced with the presence and testimony of Brother Hal Jewel.
After church, we were blessed to attend Vincent Li's baptism by Elder Chiang. His cousin, Sherry Wei, bore her testimony, and his aunt, Sister Xiaoyun Li, offered one of the prayers. The Primary children sang the "Baptism" song for Vincent. Then we heard Vincent express his feelings about his own baptism. Congratulations, Vincent, on this important step in your life.
Immediately after the baptism, we proceeded upstairs to the cultural hall to enjoy a delicious meal prepared by Sisters Betty Azucena and Florence Tung. Brother Mingshu Zhang conducted the fireside for the Reiff's and the Theodore's. Sister Abbey Zhao thanked Sisters Sylvia Reiff and Ashley Theodore for their contributions in Primary. President Tsai thanked them and their husbands for their contributions to the branch. Then each of them in turn expressed their feelings on their service: Ashley & Jess Theodore, and Sylvia and Fred Reiff.
From the beginning, this fireside was not a farewell fireside. But rather, it was a fireside to express gratitude to these 4 wonderful friends for their love and support of our branch members. We thank them for the countless hours of dedicated service they have rendered on behalf of our branch brothers and sisters. In the spirit of this fireside, we hope to see them back in future branch meetings and activities. Thank you!

Young Men's Campout

This morning (June 17), the 5 brave young men returned from their campout last night at the Foulger Farm. Jess Theodore and J Brown met the young men at the Kentlands Chapel at 7pm, but they did not leave the chapel until 8pm. Simon went to the farm directly later last night and joined Jonathan, Hubert, Joshua, and Humphrey. They engaged in firebuilding and late night activities. Due to the rain and wind, they made a major decision to make camp inside the barn (A wise decision). In the morning, they enjoyed a delicious breakfast of pancakes and bananas. After some games, Jess and J drove everyone home by noon. Thanks to Jess & J for their time in providing this fun activity for the young men.
