In the morning at 11:30 am, on Tuesday, August 26, the Relief Society sisters invited the Young Women and Primary kids (total of about 25 people) to visit the
The program included the Drum for Spring Dance by Megan Tsai and Molly Carbonell; piano playing by Alex Carbonell; music performance by Jessica, Jonathan and Joshua Tsai; and singing of three hymns (“There Is Sunshine in My Soul Today,” “I Need Thee Every Hour,” and “Love One Another”) by the Relief Society and the Young Women. Pictures included here were published in the local Chinese newspaper, the World Journal, on August 29.
After we shared the hand and brain exercises with them to stimulate their mind, Sister Charlotte Shen presented them the healing packs, which were warmed in microwave ovens and used for healing the back, neck, hand, and leg. We want to thank Sister Tsai for teaching us how to make the healing packs and the Relief Society sisters for preparing the 20 healing packs for the elderly people before we visited them. We hope that all sisters will know how to make their own healing packs in the future. Most important, we want to thank all participants for giving up their time to share their talents with the elderly in Day Care Center. We want to thank Sister Charlotte Shen for making contact with the manager, Mr. Lee, to coordinate such a nice community service. We will always remember this special activity for the love that we have felt towards each other and to those whom we have served.Betty Azucena
