Where Are They Now? ---> Jim & Anna Fowler

We are James (Jim) and Anna Fowler, members of the Chinese Branch in 2007-2008. (I can't recall our callings- I think I was a RS teacher and James served in YM's.)

We will always remember how loving and inviting this branch was to our family. There is a special spirit there. We also really enjoyed attending the Chinese New Year celebration. One very memorable experience was when we were both speaking in Sacrament. The topic was keeping the sabbath day holy. When we got in the car Sunday morning to drive to church, the gas light almost immediately came on (meaning it was almost empty). We thought there was no way we would be able to make the 30+ minute drive up to Maryland (we were coming from Arlington VA). We said a prayer though and miraculously we made it. We knew however we would be running out of gas on the way home for sure, as it really was a miracle we made it to the church (and in time for our sacrament talks we were giving)! President Tsai was an answer to our heart's prayer though. After church, he had found a member living near the chapel who offered us a 5-gallon gas tank in the back of his car and it was just enough to get us back home and be able to fill up the next day. Such a blessing of the Lord helping us out and providing a way to keep his commandments (especially when we were speaking in Church on the importance of keeping the Sabbath day holy!)

We are in Bentonville, Arkansas. Home to Walmart! James works at Walmart in their New Format Development team. They work on designing and putting together smaller format Walmart stores. We hope to one day make it back to China if we are lucky :). We have 3 kids: Jimmy 6, Johnny 3, and Alice 9 months.

Check out our family blog.
