家谱工作坊 Family History Workshop

在2023年3月17日（正好是圣帕特里克节）分会举办了一个精彩的工作坊，让成员有机会更熟悉 familysearch.org 并研究自己的家谱。 教堂球场的桌子由Anderson弟兄和姐妹织成6个不同的站点，将家家谱工作的步骤分解为容易处理的部分，例如注册 familysearch.org 帐户，浏览家谱树页面以及准备和打印家庭名字卡片。所有20+参与者整晚以各种方式互相帮助。大家都一起由分享提示，扫描照片，破译复杂的古老家谱记录，输入新记录并打印父母和祖父母等人的教仪名字卡片，解决重复的名字，交换故事，度过了愉快的时光。结果，到了预定的两个小时结束后，没有人愿意停下来！

On St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 2023, the Branch held a wonderful workshop to give members a chance to become more familiar with familysearch.org and work on their own family history. These workshops were organized and planned by Brother and Sister Anderson. The arranged tables in the cultural hall into 6 different stations breaking down the steps of family history work into manageable segments such as creating an account on familysearch.org, navigating pedigree pages, and preparing and printing names for ordinances. All 20+ in attendance helped each other throughout the night in a myriad of ways. Tips were shared, photos were digitized, centuries-old family history records were deciphered, records of parents and grandparents and beyond were entered and printed for ordinance work, duplicate names were resolved, stories were exchanged, and a great time was had by all. In fact, no one wanted to stop after the scheduled two hours were up!

On April 21, we were privileged to have a church's professional family genealogy, specifically Chinese genealogist, Sister Stout to help our members find family history. Her with Brother and Sister Anderson spent all day helping our members research family history. What a great blessing to have her help our reach back to our Chinese ancestors and do Temple work.
