Steven Cheng was the honored emcee at the Montgomery Chinese
Branch Annual Christmas Party this year. After an opening prayer by
Sister Liou, President Charles Huang shared a special presidency
message. Everyone commenced in eating the Christmas dinner and in
socializing. During the whole evening, Abbey Zhao manned a booth for the children to create cute nativity sets out of wood. The program began with a special video Nativity
Presentation. Brennan Zhao and Brother Qing Kun Zhong performed a special
musical number with saxophone and electric guitar. The DC Women’s Choir
sang "Ave Maria" and "Mo Li Hua." A combined choir (DC Men's Choir, DC Women's Choir, and the
Branch choir) gave a stirring rendition of Handel's "For Unto Us a Child
Is Born" in the chapel. Finally, the DC Men's Choir performed the "The
Little Drummer Boy." After Sister Lau offered the closing prayer, we
heard the familiar laugh of Santa Claus, who came to delight children,
young and old. Merry Christmas to all.
