The culmination of this season's worth of dance rehearsals taught through the Relief Society activities by Li-Fang Tsai, Ricky Vera, and Darrell and Carolyn Hurt, was the dance banquet held at 5pm on January 11, 2025, in the Kentlands Chapel cultural hall. The Christmas lights on the wreath were requested to remain for this dance activity. Within the last few months, Sister Tsai taught us line dancing, Brother Vera gave us instruction on latin dance (bachata and merengue), and Brother and Sister Hurt coaches us on ballroom dance (mainly waltz). Combining all three forms of dance in one evening resulted in the dance banquet. The first half of the evening was a formal sit-down, black-tie dinner. The second half of the evening alternated between a set of 3 dances (line dance, latin dance, and waltz) and a social game to get to know each other. Those who attended this special event included: Charles & Sara Huang, Sophy Fugal, Ben & Li-Fang Tsai, Mirna Vera, Ricky & Lanlan Vera, Mingshu & Shucheng Zhang, and Da & Abbey Zhao. Tonight was a very fun evening of good food, dance, and games. It was a great opportunity to apply all of the things we have learned this past few months in these three types of dances. Thanks to our great instructors and to all those who attended.
